Frequently asked questions

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

There is no minimum time limit for planning your stay, a last minute booking is in principle possible, if our availability allows it. However, the period March-October is very popular. If you wish to visit us during this period, we advise you to contact us at least 6 months in advance.

Bedding will be provided on arrival. The use of personal sheets or sleeping bags is not permitted for reasons of hygiene. Towels and soap are not provided.

We welcome you on a half-board or full-board basis. The use of the Centre on a self-catering basis is possible for certain groups, associations for example, at weekends, if no other group is accommodated at the same time. On request, we can also organise a "tarte flambée" evening for you at the Centre or in a restaurant in Niederbronn-les-Bains.

Yes, we will send you a form when you make your reservation. We take diets and allergies into account as long as the form is returned to us completed 2 weeks before the start of your stay.

There is a train station in the centre of Niederbronn with a direct link to and from Strasbourg, early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Some regional trains also stop in Niederbronn. For excursions in the region, it is necessary to organise private transport.

A bus must be booked for door-to-door transport. You can also choose to travel by train via Strasbourg station to Niederbronn-les-Bains. You can then reach the Centre in 25 minutes' walk. We will be happy to arrange a bus to pick you up from Strasbourg station.

A bus is necessary for your excursions in the region. The ICAS works in cooperation with a local transport company, which can offer you attractive rates.

You can pay for your stay on site in cash, or by transfer on invoice. Unfortunately, payment by card is not possible. Drinks must be paid for on site before departure.

The rooms must be emptied and swept at 9 am on the day of departure. The seminar and recreation rooms remain at your disposal until the time of departure.

There is a small supermarket as well as several shops and restaurants in the centre of Niederbronn-les-Bains, a 15-minute walk from the centre.

The centre’s educational team offers programmes for children from the age of 9, such as language and cooperation games. The historical and political educational programmes are suitable for children from 12 years of age.

The organisation of a programme at the Centre is very flexible. Groups can organise their own timetable and supplement it with IJBS offers. We are also happy to advise you on how to create an "à la carte" programme. Finally, on request, we can organise your excursions in the region, including transport and reservations.

Our programmes are run by our qualified staff members, who are the contact persons for the participants during working hours. The teachers/guides usually participate in the activities and support the students when needed. Their presence is not essential for some activities, but it is desirable that they are available when needed.

Teachers/guides may choose to alternatively conduct certain activities themselves and reserve certain ICSW modules.

Yes, you can book the centre’s seminar rooms for your events on request.

It is possible to obtain a grant for certain groups or particular projects. For example, Franco-German groups can receive support from the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO). We will be happy to advise you on the possibilities of subsidies for your project.
